Public Scoping Meetings for the proposed BART Extension to Milpitas, San Jose and Santa Clara were held October 9, 11 and 18, 2007 to initiate the preparation of the federal Environmental Impact Statement. Please click to view the meeting presentation and the meeting notice.
VTA hosted public hearings for the Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Report (Draft SEIR) in February 2007. The hearings updated the public on the environmental impacts for proposed changes to the project, and provided the public with the opportunity to submit formal comments on the Draft SEIR.
As of March 2006, over $260 million in value engineering savings have been identified and approved by the project’s Policy Advisory Board. The team continues to review and assess value-engineering proposals for potential implementation while working with local and regional agencies and stakeholders on various project issues.
