Stay Informed

VTA is committed to working closely with local communities to develop a superior transportation solution with BART to Silicon Valley.
  • The community has been involved in the project for over five years.  During this time, there have been more that 50 Community Working Group (CWG) meetings and over 54 public workshops.

From public meetings and workshops, established community and technical working groups, presentations at business and community meetings, newsletters and informational materials, community outreach has played, and will continue to play, an important role in the project.

    Public Meetings
    • Public Scoping Meetings for the proposed BART Extension to Milpitas, San Jose and Santa Clara were held October 9, 11 and 18, 2007 to initiate the preparation of the federal Environmental Impact Statement. Please click to view the meeting presentation and the meeting notice.
    • February 2007 Public Hearings: VTA hosted a series of four public hearings in February 2007. The hearings included a presentation and an open house where the public could visit project exhibits and ask the project staff questions. The public had the opportunity to enter formal comments into the public record. Please click to review the Public Hearing Notice, the Public Hearing Meeting presentation, or the Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Report (Draft SEIR).
    • Public involvement is an essential element of the BART Extension to Milpitas, San Jose and Santa Clara project.
